Ok, it has been a while since I've really had anything to say, or the time, but I have a few hours to kill today before my flight. I'm now on vacation and getting ready to jet off to Amsterdam to celebrate my birthday, and I can hardly wait. I've checked in for my flight, and will be leaving for Frankfurt in about three hours. From there I'll be connecting to Amsterdam.
I was afraid that I was going to be visiting Amsterdam alone, but luckily a friend from work will be on vacation this week. He'll be flying out tomorrow to spend a few days with me. So I'm happy that come Monday, I'll have somebody to spend my birthday with that I know.
My friend joked that while there we will have to see a sex show. I should probably ask him if I can choose what type of sex show we go see since it is my birthday... I doubt he would want to go see the same one as me since he is straight. I know he will go to some of the gay bars/pubs with me, but talking him into seeing a gay show will be something else entirely.
Besides, I think it would just be odd watching two guys up on a stage having sex.
Now this won't be my first international flight, but today will be the first time I've been able to fly first class internationally. When I went to London, I managed to get a seat in business class, but my flight today is pretty wide open. I have to say I'm glad that I work for an airline, otherwise I wouldn't be able to even think about sitting anywhere other than coach (which I'll probably fly on my return to save money). The only reason I want to go first class this trip is I am spoiling myself on this birthday.
I'm of the opinion that every 10 years it is more than ok to spoil yourself on your birthday. This year I'll be in Amsterdam staying at a hotel I normally wouldn't consider and visit a coffee shop or two. In 2016 for my 50th birthday I'm hoping to be in Australia diving off of the Great Barrier Reef.
Not much more I can say about my trip at the moment. I probably won't do much posting while I'm in Amsterdam. I will, however, upload my pictures each day to Flickr: Photos from queermusings. I have to go get ready to clear security, and that is always a joy. I tell you it sucks having a name that turns up as a false positive on the governments watch list.
