Regardless of Matthew being gay or straight, NBC finally admits that they screwed up when he won the gold in Beijing. As the only non-Chinese person to win gold in diving he really did deserve a bit follow up with the press to show his story. In a way this was just as big of an event as Phelps winning the eight gold medals.
